What is the difference between CNC routing and laser cutting?
CNC routing uses a rotating tool to cut, shape or carve a material. Laser cutting uses a focused beam for detailed cut outlines. The choice depends on the material, thickness, design and required finish.
What is the difference between laser cutting and engraving?
Cutting goes through the material to create a separate shape or part. Engraving works on the surface to add text, a logo, a pattern or other detail. A project can combine both processes when the material and design are suitable.
Which materials can you CNC cut?
CNC projects include wood, plywood, MDF and acrylic for panels, cabinetry components, lettering and custom designs. Aluminum projects are reviewed individually for suitability.
Which materials can you laser cut or engrave?
Laser cutting and engraving are available for wood and acrylic. Suitable leather projects are reviewed individually. Material composition and thickness affect both suitability and the finished result.
What file format is needed for cutting or engraving?
Cutting needs accurate outlines and dimensions, usually as vector or CAD artwork. Image-based artwork can be suitable for some laser engraving. The required production format and any file preparation are confirmed for each project.
What size and thickness can you cut?

How accurate are CNC and laser-cut parts?

Can I order a single piece, or do you only do batches?
ANP handles one-off pieces and production runs. Quantity is included in the project review so production and pricing can be planned accordingly.
How long will my order take?
The schedule depends on material availability, quantity, design complexity, file readiness and finishing. Completion timing is confirmed with the quote.
Can I bring my own materials or panels?
Customer-supplied materials and panels are reviewed before work begins. Material type, thickness, condition and suitability for cutting or edge banding determine whether they can be used.

ANP Cutting is at Unit 4, 2840 Argentia Road, Mississauga. Opening hours and directions are available below. Collection or delivery arrangements are confirmed for each project.
Edge Banding & Finishing
What is edge banding, and which panels need it?
Edge banding covers the exposed core of a panel with a finished strip. It gives cabinetry, shelving and other panel components a cleaner appearance and helps protect vulnerable edges. The edges to be finished depend on the design and where the panel will be visible or exposed.
Can edge banding match my panel colour and finish?
Matching considers the panel colour, grain, texture and gloss level. Available banding options are reviewed against the panel finish; an exact match depends on the edging available for that material.
Do panels need to be prepared before edge banding?
For straight panel edging, edges should be clean, square and free from chips or damage. Panel sizing and any preparation work are confirmed with the quote.
Do cut parts need sanding or additional finishing?
The finish depends on the material and cutting process. Routed wood may need sanding or another finish. ANP’s woodwork services include sanding, painting or staining and assembly, with the finish and scope agreed in the quote.
